The Component
The component of a Device Modification is the main part that is being modified/serviced.
Ancestor with SN
To aid with traceability, we need a serial number associated with the component.
This is trivial if the component is serializable (just enter the number in the SN field), but what if the component doesn't have a serial number?
If this is the case, you must select an ancestor (parent, grandparent, further up the BOM 'tree') that has a serial number.
Once you've selected an appropriate ancestor, enter the serial number for that ancestor.
Formsets
Formsets are used to enter the modifications (parts added to or removed from) the component.
