For general information about filling out forms in Marty 5, see this page
Use the Button on the Main Contacts Page
To create a new contact in the database, first navigate to the main Contacts page by clicking on the Contacts link in the main navigation bar. Above the main list of contacts is a button labelled "+ Add New Contact". Click this button to go to the contact creation page.
Select the Type of Contact First
Different types of contacts require different information to be entered. When you select a contact type, the fields presented to you will change to reflect the needs of that type. By selecting the type first, you can be sure that you are filling out the right fields for your purposes.
Suppliers Require Two Addresses
If you select the contact type of Supplier, you will notice that some address fields appear on the right-hand side of the page. Look closer, and you'll see that there are some "tabs" above the fields (labelled "Physical" and "Remit"). By clicking on the tabs, you can switch between the forms for each type of address. Start by filling out the Physical address. If the Remit address is the same as the Physical address, you can switch to that tab, and click the "Copy Physical Address" to automatically fill out the Remit form.
With Addresses, Select the Country First
Addresses require different fields depending on which country they are for (State is only required for US addresses, for instance). Just like when you select the contact type, when you select the country, the fields presented to you will change to reflect the needs of that country. By starting with the country selection, you can be sure that you are filling out the right fields.
Editing Existing Contacts
To edit a contact that is already in the database, find that contact via the contacts list and click on the contact's name to navigate to the detail view. On the contact's detail page, you should see a button labelled "edit contact" with a pencil icon. Click on this button to go to the editing form, which is very much like the creation form, though you cannot change the contact's type.
